We are enthusiastic to announce that you can now study Value-Based Health Care (VBHC) focused on older people with the ValueCare team. This Green Belt certification course will provide you with scientific knowledge and practical skills following the principles and standards of the Harvard Business School.

The ValueCare Consortium has developed this training course together with the Value Based Health Care Center Europe and The Decision Group Amsterdam. A core team of the consortium, with representatives of Istituto per Servizi di Ricovero e Assistenza agli Anziani (ISRAA), Erasmus University Medical Center, the Medical Faculty University of Rijeka, and ECHAlliance have been working on adapting the VBHC Model by M.E. Porter to the domain of care for older people. The course builds on the ValueCare knowledge base that was created over the past five years of the project, drawing on the practical experiences of more than one year of pilot deployment of the ValueCare approach. This pilot was incredibly diverse, taking place in seven European cities with each participant group of older people participant living with different conditions.

Course Details

The VBHC course offered by ValueCare for Green Belt certification is a two-day course for practitioners and health care managers who want to acquire scientific knowledge and practical skills.

Participants will learn:

• The 4 core principles of the VBHC Model
• How to implement the VBHC Model in the social & health domain with a particular focus on the long term care sector
• Which are the key roles of doctors, nurses, social workers and teams regarding the Value Care pathway delivery, and how to redesign it
• How to move from a care system that is based on input and performance towards an outcome driven one supported by a ‘bundle payments model’

Course Materials

To prepare for the training course it is recommended to study the provided literature and case study materials. At the end of the training course, the trainees can decide to participate in an official final online examination. When at least 80% of the answers are correct, the candidate receives a ‘green belt certification’. The exam is provided by the Value Based Health Care Center Amsterdam (additional costs apply for the examination).
