The ValueCare Project seeks a Research Assistant to support recruitment and data collection in Cork/Kerry
The ValueCare Project is a multi-site European research project, funded by Horizon2020, which seeks to co-design and deliver integrated care to older people living with chronic health conditions to improve their quality of life, as well as their care providers, and support the sustainability of healthcare systems in Europe. The vision of the project is to co-design and test value-based integrated care with key stakeholders (older citizens, family or informal caregivers and health and social care providers) within a large-scale pilot. In Ireland, the ValueCare Project aims to test a supportive app amongst older citizens with mild or moderate frailty that features a wellness plan to promote healthy lifestyle, a virtual coach and connects them to their community-based healthcare providers. The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the HSE’s Integrated Care Programme for Older People (ICPOP). This part-time role (0.5 FTE) will involve participant recruitment, participant training to use the app and health outcome data collection. The role will commence February/March 2022.
The post will be based in the HSE’s CHO4 area ( Kerry, North Cork, North Lee, South Lee, West Cork) and will be expected to travel in Cork and Kerry for the research. The post will involve working closely with a Postdoctoral Researcher/Project Manager and will report to the Principal Investigator. Flexibility will be required for the position as working hours will be dependent on the relevant clinical appointments to conduct recruitment and training. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment on a research project that focuses on patient and public involvement, health behavioural change and digital health for the future.
