Technological platforms and healthy ageing: challenges and opportunities

Virtual dialogue workshop, April 27th, 9:00 to 13:30 (CET)

Intended to envision the potential of a common European platform facilitating long-term active and healthy ageing, the University of Castilla-La Mancha invites health and care professionals, industry, academia, civil society organization and the general audience to the third dialogue workshop conceived in the framework of the Horizon2020 SHAPES project.

Benefitting from high-level and professionals’ speeches, the event will identify the challenges arising from designing and implementing a technological platform and will discuss strengths and weaknesses for integrated care in the digital era.

This 3rd dialogue workshop intends to gather representatives from industry, academia, health and care organisations, civil society as well as older people. The workshop will be relevant for the different stakeholders involved in ValueCare, as it will focus on:

  • Identifying the challenges that arise throughout the different phases in the creation of a technological platform, from hardware and software designers to end-users.
  • Envisioning the potential of a common European platform that facilitates long-term active and healthy ageing.
  • Discussing the strengths and weaknesses of technological platforms for integrated care and healthy and active ageing, with a sight on the ethical implications and the acceptance among potential users.
  • Understand the different concerns, points of view and needs of the stakeholders involved in health and care delivery.

Two 40-minutes Q&A sessions will allow participants to have a say and contribute to the discussion, whose outcomes will feed into the development of the SHAPES platform for health and care.

The event will be held in English, with Spanish and International Sign Language interpretations.
