The fourth face-to-face meeting of the ValueCare Consortium took place in December last 2020, it was the 1-year anniversary of the ValueCare project!
The meeting took place online instead of in Trento, Italy, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting was set-up in a way to reflect on the projects’ goals and progress during the past year and to look forward to the next year.
First, EMC presented an overall reflection on the goals of the project after one year, this was done by highlighting the topics we achieved and the topics that need to be paid attention to in the upcoming year. One aspect to keep in mind is our aim to achieve ‘integrated healthcare’.
Afterwards, the following topics were discussed:
- Engagement and co-design
- Application of value-based approach
- Integrated care and the ICT solution
- Context of integrated care in the pilot sites
Each topic was prepared and presented by the involved partners. An overview was given on the following:
- Where are we?
- What can we improve?
- What do we need?
During the discussions on these topics, the challenges by COVID-19 were also reflected upon, especially regarding the co-design activities. A delay in co-design will impact other activities, such as the ICT development, as they need input from the co-design activities to design the ICT application. However, all partners are recruiting participants and performing online co-design.
After a short break after the discussion of the activities in WP5, Wp6, WP7, Wp8 and WP9 followed. Here, the following questions were discussed:
- What is the aim of the WP?
- Where are we?
- What will we do in 2021?
The meeting was effective and successful reflecting on one year of Valuecare and all partners are looking forward to an exciting second project year!
